Week 3A Communication

In all my years of adulting (which aren't many), doing all the things that adults have to do like, pay bills, buy stuff, work, and then buy other stuff. I don't think I've ever had any trouble communicating with any brands or businesses, and I think social media has played a big role in why. In an age where anything can go viral in a matter of hours, it's easy for things to take a turn for the worst after the smallest slip up, especially for a business. So being able to resolve issues, and communicate clearly what those issues are with customers is very important for any business big or small.  I have a great example from personal experience that I'll share. Template Choice.

Why did I choose this blog template? As the rest of the class will surely know, there were plenty of options catering to different styles and aesthetics. So what it really came down to was choosing a template that reflected my own style and workflow. I definitely consider myself to be a tad minimalistic, so I wanted something that was simple, straight forward, and to the point. Over the past couple years of me being a photographer and designer, I've come to learn that clean and simple is more often that not a better choice. Things tend to flow/ mesh better, and your subject tends to remain in focus instead of being lost in minutia. The template that I've chosen I think clearly reflects all of the things that I was after.  Upon opening my blog page everything is clearly visible and shouldn't take anyone more than a couple seconds to figure out where everything is located. Week 11A: Newsletters

To be quite honest I didn't even know that newsletters were a thing. I mean obviously I've heard of newsletters but I never realized how useful they could actually be. Upon do some research I found a few successful photographers who swear by sending newsletters, and from them I was able to come up with many ideas for a news letter of my own. First there's the obvious which is having a news letter that has special deals for shoots and would be sent out every few months or so. I could also do a bi-weekly inspirational newsletter which contains beautiful images curated by myself. Along with that I could sprinkle in tips and tricks for editing and using Photoshop. I could also do a themed newsletter where I edit a few photos in a similar manner, create presets, and include the presets and the photos in the newsletter. So many ideas its hard to settle on one. But one thing I have learned for sure is that newsletters can be another powerful tool to engage customers.
